Where use is made of the rail network, the ferrochrome is dispatched from the Machadodorp works to Richards Bay port via the General Freight system.
Where use is made of the rail network, the chrome ore is transported by road from the Dwarsrivier Mine to Steelport Station, and then dispatched to Richards Bay port via the General Freight system.

Richards Bay
The port of Richards Bay is located on the Northern KwaZulu coast, and is South Africa's largest exporting port, handling more than half of the cargo passing through the country's ports.
The ferrochrome is exported via the port's dedicated ferrochrome storage area and the Multipurpose Terminal (MPT).
The chrome ore is exported via the port's dedicated chrome ore storage area and the Drybulk Terminal (DBT)
